Today’s the day for big news regarding science fiction movies in which Harrison Ford plays a part. Earlier today Travis brought you the trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (and OMG, I cannot wait!) and now we’re bringing you a bit of news about the sequel to “Blade Runner.”
According to Alcon Entertainment, Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to star in the “Untitled Blade Runner Project” alongside Ford. The sequel to the 1982 cult favorite will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, and is set to start filming in summer of 2016.
The original “Blade Runner” was set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles, and Ford’s character, Rick Deckard, was a retired blade runner whose job was to track down beings known as “replicants” and destroy them. The film was based on the 1968 novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, by Philip K. Dick.
No release date for the sequel has been announced yet, so take a look see at this trailer for the original’s 30th anniversary.
